APPRENTICESHIP INFORMATION

Bring your knowledge into a

​classroom.

The Classroom Academy residency model, now a NYS Registered Apprenticeship program, places graduate level candidates, pursuing initial NYS certification, in a 2 year full-time, paid classroom placement with a matched expert teacher.​

Affordability:

  • $22,000 /yr stipend
  • $6,000 tuition assistance for SUNY candidates
  • possible grant support for additional tuition assistance or other costs

Additional Advantages:

  • ​receive a NYS Apprenticeship Certificate which evidences the experience obtained in the classroom over the 2 year period;
  • receive service credit toward the required 3 years needed to attain the NYS Professional Teaching Certificate;
  • build a professional network and navigate the nuances of the school community with support and guidance
  • build relationships with colleagues, parents, and families.
